Aight! So I am a size small and I LOVE Hollister! It is for small people and thier clothes fit! It's crazy difficult finding clothes that don't fit your frame and fall off your hips everytime you move and Hollister just caters to this crowd (never mind that everyone there is about 10 yrs old but hey, who's lookin'?) Do you always hear us size negatives complaining about how nothing ever fits at any of the other stores? So for those who can't find a decent pair of affordable jeans in the whole mall, Hollister works. Just sayin', look at it from the other perspective too, it isn't that bad.

What annoys me is that these stores deliberately makes their sizes tiny so that only the skinniest girls can wear their clothing. So I definitely agree that they should make their sizes reasonable.

I don't usually care what size I am in any particular store because I think that if a piece of clothing looks good, it shouldn't matter what size it is. But this is particularly frustrating because I'm normally a size small, and if I go into Hollister to try on a small, I can guarantee you that it won't fit me. In fact, I don't own anything from Hollister or Abercrombie. It's just a laziness factor with me, I hate having to try on a piece of clothing more than once. :P

Every time I find something at Hollister that I like and that's on sale, it's an XS. Anywhere else, I fit into an XS, because, hello, I'm a small person. But at Hollister, no way! The main problem is actually my boobs. :P I agree with Amanda; people get so intimidated by the fact that they have to wear an XL at these stores, when in fact anywhere else they would probably be an XS or at least an S. It's a shame, really.

My apologies, "different sizes and brands" should be "different stores and brands". :) "realisatically" should also be "realistically".

The main problem in trying to 'police' stores/brands and forcing them to comply with a standard dress size, is the fact that it's simply impractical. With the multitude (literally, millions upon millions) of different sizes and brands available these days, to dramatically change the sizing habits of each would be a task that would take years upon years upon DECADES. It's simply illogical, and realisatically, there are more important things to worry about.

With that said however, I do agree with you in that such brands should take responsibility for their sizing, to make them more realistic across the board. Better education of consumers too should be implemented, so that people understand that a number on a tag has no direct bearing on who they are as a person, etc. :)
