Greetings and namaste to youthern.com and I am very pleased you came to stop by.
I go by the name of Susan. This is the small space on the web where I babble about useless things.
Feel free to enjoy/hate/be surprised. -
You can go to my feedburner which is located here.
Welcome back! I won’t bore you with the details of my mundane life, so you can take a big sigh of relief.
So what spurned such a topic? I did an Extreme Makeover on my rarely used iPod Video, which I haven’t used in a while, and realized that there are a lot of Hindi songs with awesome beats.
I know, the majority of you would rather listen to your assortment of Radiohead and Coldplay, and your secret stash of Colbie Caillat and Miley Cyrus, but believe me, you might like what you hear.
So here is the list.
- Ishq Kamina - Shakti
If you are not so familiar with Bollywood music and need a good beat to dance to, this is your song. It has a total, “Make-You-Wanna-Get-Up-And-Move” tune and is great for the younger crowd. - Beedi - Omkara
If you don’t know what a “beedi” is, it is a South Asian form of a cigarette, but it is great as a song! Crazy dancing and Vivek Oberoi looks amazing. Omkara, the movie this song is from, I have not exactly watched, but I imagine anything with Vivek and Saif Ali must be good. - Number 1 Punjabi - Chori Chori Chupke Chupke
If there is going to be a song list like this one, of course one of them would be Punjabi! This was my jam when I was little, and it is still a great song to sing/dance to. I would recommend this song to those who want to learn some Punjabi dancing styles/steps. - Dhoom Tana - Om Shanti Om
One of the newer songs on this list, I have not watched the movie this song is in, yet. But this particular song is very addictive and lighthearted, and I believe it was played on So You Think You Can Dance. In any case, there is a great assortment of dancing and typical Bollywood fun. - Dola Re - Devdas
And last but certainly not least, this song is one of the greatest songs ever, in Bollywood. Attempt the dancing, if you can! The song is simple but full of meaning, especially if you have seen the movie (went to the Oscars or something).
